The Story:

ITCruisers is an idea which was birthed during my university days, with the objective to share IT knowledge to the world! We live in the information Age, with emerging technologies advancing by the day. Therefore I am committed to sharing this knowledge to virtually everyone regardless of  location, this I have been doing for more than a decade with my first blog post on October 27th 2010.

It is my passion and desire to get people enlightened on latest technological trends. Therefore in this blog you will find useful resources to gain more knowledge and cruise in today's fast paced digital world! About Me:

Osinachi Anthony Ozocheta is a certified Cloud Engineer, Cybersecurity Analyst, Network Security Engineer, Server Infrastructure Engineer and IT Support Expert with over ten (10) years of experience and exceptional knowledge of the enterprise IT landscape.

My skill set cuts across various technologies such as firewalls, Cisco/Dell/HP Switching & Routing, end-point protection, Penetration Testing, cybersecurity vulnerability assessment, SIEM, Microsoft 365, Azure, AWS, Oracle OCI, Windows server 2008R2/2012/2016/2019/2022, Web filtering, Enterprise LAN/Wi-Fi, Active Directory, Group policy, DNS, DHCP, VMware, HyperV, VMware, VoIP/IP-PBX, Powershell, amongst other skills.

I hold a Masters Degree in Information Technology from the National Open University of Nigeria. To further improve my IT skills, I have taken a series of courses on cybersecurity and cloud computing offered by industry leaders like Cisco, Fortinet, AWS, Microsoft and Oracle. I passed the Axelos Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITILv4) certification, Google IT Support Specialization Certification, Microsoft Azure fundamentals certification, AWS practitioner certification and the Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Operations Associate certification.

Also, I have excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team of other professionals, which has earned me two promotions in my current workplace to Assistant Managerial level.

I was once just a lover of IT, but gradually grew to be an explorer and have now become a contributor to the exciting world of IT! And you know what? I've only just begun!😊

Once again I bring to you online security tips; this time it is about the popularly used mobile messaging app  - WhatsApp.  Two-step verification ensures safety of the application and prevents intruders from taking over your account. WHATSAPP: HOW TO BACKUP CHATS & MEDIA ON GOOGLE DRIVE

With Google Drive cloud storage service you can backup WhatsApp media which includes chats, photos, videos, audio and documents. It is goodbye to data loss! The importance of performing this backup is if you change or lose your device you can always retrieve all your previous media files with ease. Google has recently announced a new agreement with WhatsApp regarding backup of WhatsApp chats and media on Google Drive which will allow users have extra storage different from their normal Google Drive storage quota. The announcement reads; "Due to a new agreement between WhatsApp and Google, WhatsApp backups will no longer count against Google Drive storage quota. However, any WhatsApp backups that have not been updated in more than a year will automatically be removed from storage. This policy will go into effect for all users on November 12, 2018 though some users may see the quota benefits earlier. MOBILE NETWORK PORTABILITY (MNP) COMING SOON IN NIGERIA

What is Mobile Network Portability (MNP)? Mobile Number  Portability allows mobile telephone users to migrate from one service provider to another and still retain their telephone numbers. It provides a platform whereby a subscriber on any of the existing GSM and some of the CDMA networks can switch from one service provider to another and still retain their phone numbers. For instance, with your current MTN line you can decide to migrate to ETISALAT or vice-versa, and still retain your "stable and popular" phone number. How MNP Works For instance, subscriber A whose original service provider is network P, might wish to change or port to network Q. This can be achieved by subscriber A sending a porting request to network Q, network Q sees the request coming from a user on network P and then contacts them accordingly to setup the process of exchange and transference of subscriber details, this is the most common and it is known as "Recipient-led" porting.
